Guelph Student Foodbank Fundraiser

Since the COVID-19 outbreak in Guelph, students and families across the community have suffered significant losses in income resulting in increasing challenges to support the basic costs of living. Within one hour of implementing the University of Guelph's COVID-19 emergency foodbank, 130 students registered with more than 90 dependents.

The Guelph International Development Student Association (GIDSA) is looking to help strengthen the initiatives that have been implemented by the UofG. We have created this fundraiser to help provide an extension of support to university students and faculty struggling with food security amidst ongoing uncertainty. Specifically, every dollar that is raised will go towards the Guelph Student Food Bank and the provisioning of grocery gift cards and meals to those in need. If we are able to raise $1000, we can assist in providing one week's worth of groceries and meals to approximately 20 individuals.

During this time of social distancing, the Guelph Student Foodbank's unending dedication to helping those in need has transitioned online, focusing on the supply and delivery of electronic grocery cards. By donating to this fundraiser, you will be directly supporting the Central Student Association and the Guelph Student Foodbank in their ongoing efforts to provide students with access to emergency food, anti-poverty resources, and referrals.

A donation of any amount will be a wonderful contribution towards strengthening the Guelph community's food security.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
