How to Apply
Prospective graduate students must apply to the University of Guelph online, through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).
Please visit the Graduate Studies website to learn more and begin your application process.
How to add the International Development Studies (IDS) Collaborative Specialization
When applying online through OUAC, choose the program that combines your desired area of study with International Development Studies (ex. Sociology with International Development Studies - MA.SOC+IDEV).
In your application, please ensure that your statement of intent explains how your research ideas fit with the IDS specialization, and also explains how your background and interests will contribute to the vitality of the specialization in development studies.
After submitting an online application, you will be invited to submit required documents to your chosen collaborating department through the University of Guelph's online system, WebAdvisor.
Application Deadline
IDS does not have an application deadline. The application deadline that must be met is that of your chosen collaborating department. Once your application is approved by your chosen department, your file will be reviewed by the IDS admissions committee.
