Substitutions for ID minor and ID Area of Concentration (18/19 calendar or earlier)

For students enrolled in the International Development minor or the ID Area of Concentration (BAG.ID) in the 2018/19 calendar or earlier, there are a number of substitutions available. Please read through the list below and if you are having issues finding courses to meet your minor or AoC requirements, contact Lisa Blenkinsop, the IDS Academic Advisor.

Core Courses

IDEV*2500 is no longer be offered. You can use one these courses to substitute for IDEV*2500:

  • Any 2000-level IDEV course, including IDEV*2000, IDEV*2100, IDEV 2300, IDEV*2400 
  • Any 3000-level IDEV course, including IDEV*3000, IDEV*3200, IDEV*3300, IDEV*3400, IDEV*3500

POLS*2080 is no longer offered: IDEV*2000 substitutes for POLS*2080.

ECON*1050 or ECON*1100: IDEV*2200 can substitute either for ECON*1050 or ECON*1100. Please note that FARE and ECON restricted electives will require ECON*1050 and/or ECON*1100 as prerequisites.

Restricted Electives

When choosing courses to substitute for the ID minor/AoC restricted electives, keep in mind that you are required to take 1.5 restricted elective credits at the 3000-level. You will need to meet the prerequisites or receive instructor permission to register in any of the courses listed.
